Diablo Rebar Cutting Bit
I hit rebar whenever I’m drilling for concrete fasteners. Most of the time I hit bar when I’m drilling for structural connectors, like wedge anchors or Titens. but I hit bar drilling for smaller fasteners like split drives too. Part of the reason for this is that every year the amount of rebar we are putting in foundations in our area (seismic zone D2) goes up.
These bits are designed to drill right through the steel. Most of the bits I’ve used over the years are a 2 cutter bit and when you hit steel it heats up and wears out the bit. The 4 cutter bit on the Rebar Demon has more carbide and is designed to take the higher heat. I’ve replaced all of my bits with these.
